Amid the Changes in SALN Restriction in Ombudsman’s Office, Sen. Risa Hontiveros Bares Own SALN Filed for 2025
RISA HONTIVEROS – The Senator released her Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth or SALN for 2024 which shows that her net worth is nearly P19 million.
Ombudsman Boying Remulla recently restored the public access on the SALN of the government officials. The office of the country’s chief graft-buster is the repository of the SALN of the president, the vice president, the local government officials, and the officials of the Constitutional commissions.
Remulla stressed that their move is in line with what is stated in the Constitution that a ‘public office is a public trust’. The lifting of the restrictions on the public access to the SALN of the government officials was one of the first moves that he wanted to make as the country’s chief graft-buster.
Through a memorandum released by his office, the Ombudsman reversed the circular that was issues during the term of former Ombudsman Samuel Martires who retired in July. Then, a consent of the owner of the SALN was needed before the disclosure of the document.
Now, anyone can request for the SALN of a government official whose SALN is filed in the Office of the Ombudsman. The requester just have to present a valid ID. Following the move of Ombudsman Remulla, some government officials voluntarily disclosed their SALN.
Sen. Risa Hontiveros is one of the senators who have disclosed their SALNs. The net worth of the Senator is at P18.986 million based on her SALN. Her assets, including real and personal properties, were at P19.884 million while her liabilities is a car loan at P897,840.
Based on the post of the Senator, she owns three residential properties — two (2) house and lot and a house. Her cash deposits is at P3,658,198.21 while she owns two (2) vehicles — a 2014 Toyota Innova worth P1,445,000 and a 4×2 Toyota Fortuner at P1,943,000.
Another senator who also disclosed his SALN is Sen. Ping Lacson whose SALN showed a massive growth of his net worth in just three (3) years.
