Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks on Dad Rodrigo’s ICC Case
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President prayed for either the interim release or the total freedom of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is faced with three (3) counts of murder as alleged “crimes against humanity” filed by the ICC prosecution team. The former President is under the custody of the ICC since March.
Duterte applied for an interim release but it was recently denied by the ICC. Even the statements of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte were mentioned in the ruling of the ICC that junked the interim release of former Pres. Duterte. The foreign court cited the criticisms of the former President’s family over his arrest.
Prior to it, the Vice President claimed that a “third country” agree to host the interim release of former Pres. Duterte. She did not reveal which country she’s referring to but she clarified that it’s not Australia nor Japan.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte previously claimed that former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte was allegedly found unconscious on the floor of his ICC room. According to her, the former President was allegedly brought to the hospital but they were not informed about it.
The younger Duterte claimed that her father allegedly needs a 24-hour caregiver to take care of him. She previously stressed that the former President can now be called a “super senior” citizen with his age.
According to the Vice President, they already expect that her father will spend the Christmas holidays inside the ICC detention facility in The Hague, Netherlands. Meanwhile, she has a prayer for the former President.
Based on a post of News5 on social media, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte recently visited the Basilica Minore of Our Lady of Manaoag in Pangasinan. According to her, she prayed for the good health of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte amid his detention inside the ICC detention facility in The Hague, Netherlands.
Vice Pres. Duterte also revealed that she prayed for the interim release of former Pres. Duterte. Based on the post, if not the interim release, she wants total freedom for her father from his ICC case.
“Dinasal ko na sana ay mabigyan ng interim release o kung hindi man, total freedom mula sa kaso,” she said.
The junking of the interim release plea of the former President elicited different comments. Davao Congressman Paolo Duterte also previously expressed his disappointment over the ICC denying the interim release bid of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte.
