The President told the Filipinos to have a plan that each member of the family knows. He advised that the family should talk about where to go when disaster happens or where would be the meeting place.

“Unang-una, magplano. Magkaroon ng plano at alam ng bawat miyembro ng pamilya kung ano ‘yung plano na ‘yun. Pati na ‘yung mga kasambahay. Saan ang evacuation area? Saan tayo tatakbo? Saan ang meeting place kapag lumindol? Saan ba pupunta? Saan tayo magkikita-kita?” he said.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos also advised the preparation of “Go Bags”. According to the President, this bag should hold the important things including the important documents that should not be left behind. Marcos Jr. also said the “Go Bag” should have food, canned goods, biscuits, water, first aid kit, medicines, emergency hygiene kit, flashflight, whistle, lighter, among others.

Furthermore, through his vlog, Marcos Jr. also said that the “Go Bags” should contain emergency kits and may also include a rugged phone, an emergency cash, and a radio.

“‘Pag kailangan tatakbo, nakahanda na ‘yan, hindi na kayo maghahanap at mangongolekta ng inyong mga gamit,” he said.

According to the President, the safety of every Filipino family depends on the disaster preparedness. He stressed that being prepared is more important than recovering or responding to the impact of the natural calamity.

“Likas sa ating bansa ang mga sakunang ito kung kaya’t kailangan ay likas rin sa atin ang mga paalalang aking nabanggit. ‘Di lang tumutugon sa sakuna, natututo sa bawat aral ng bawat sakuna, mas marunong at mas maagap na ang bagong Pilipino. Mag-iingat po tayong lahat,” Marcos Jr. said.

Previously, Pres. Bongbong Marcos also visited Davao Oriental following the twin earthquakes. Undeniably, countless Filipino await if the President will visit the province which is known as a bailiwick of the Duterts.
