Students Faint During Magnitude 7.4 Earthquake in Kidapawan City
Several students from Kidapawan City National High School fainted after a powerful magnitude 7.4 earthquake.
On Friday morning (October 10, 2025), the sudden tremor caused panic among students and teachers who were in the middle of their classes when the ground began to shake.
Rescue teams from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) quickly responded and rushed the affected students to the nearest hospital for medical attention. Local officials confirmed that most of the students lost consciousness due to fear and shock caused by the strong quake.

Authorities continue to assess the extent of the damage in the city, checking school buildings, government offices, and other establishments for any structural risks. The city government has assured that all necessary precautions are being taken to ensure everyone’s safety.
In General Santos City, both government work and classes have been suspended as part of precautionary measures while inspections are ongoing. City officials said they want to make sure all public facilities are safe before resuming regular operations.
Meanwhile, in Sultan Kudarat, Governor Pax Ali Mangudadatu ordered the suspension of transactions at the provincial capitol as well as classes across the province. The local government of Koronadal City also announced the cancellation of work in all government offices.

Residents across affected areas were advised to remain alert and stay in open spaces until aftershocks subside.
