President Bongbong Marcos Too Busy For Kiko Barzaga’s Impeachment Threat

Malacañang says President Bongbong Marcos is too preoccupied to focus on the impeachment threat.

President Bongbong Marcos is too busy and too preoccupied to pay attention to the complaint, according to Malacañang.

Cavite 4th District Representative Francisco “Kiko” Barzaga, who playfully calls himself the “congressmeow,” has drafted an impeachment complaint against President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. He previously shared this in a post, which immediately gained attention online.

Based on Barzaga’s impeachment complaint threat against President Marcos Jr., it stated: “Under the grounds of betrayal of public trust, I am filing an impeachment for President Marcos. And hopefully, Congress will remove him soon so we can start investigating those involved in the flood control anomalies.”

The complaint emerged amid the ongoing investigation regarding the ghost and substandard flood control projects that involve billions of pesos of taxpayers’ money. To recall, it was the president who revealed the contractors involved in the issue.

On Thursday, Malacañang issued a statement through Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro, saying that the President is focused on more important matters. Marcos is reportedly too occupied to give attention to the impeachment threat.

“Busy ang Pangulo, sa pagtulong sa mga kababayan natin, maraming trabaho para maiangat pa ang Pilipinas, hindi para ibaba ang dignidad ng ating bansa,” she told Palace reporters.

Castro added that it should be difficult to speak or accuse anyone without evidence, and the 27-year-old lawmaker did not provide evidence to prove his allegations against the President. She stressed that the lack of evidence should be enough not to believe the claims.

“Mahirap po kasing magsalita ng walang ebidensiya, madaling magbintang, madaling magsabi kung anu-ano,” she said and added, “Kung walang ebidensiya hindi dapat paniwalaan.”

Moreover, matters like this are under the jurisdiction of the House of Representatives, and not the executive branch.
