Is it possible for ex-lovers to remain friends? In today’s world, many complex dynamics are possible. There are even cases where a current wife and an ex-wife become friends, some engage in co-parenting, and other situations that may seem unusual to some but are viewed as maturity and part of a modern setup by others.
However, this seems not to be a thing for singer-actress Karylle towards her ex-boyfriend, actor Dingdong Dantes. In an interview, she was asked if it is possible for her and the actor to be friends, years after their separation, but she thumbed this down, saying this is not in her cards.
Both of them are now happily married with their respective partners, but to be friends with him is not happening.
“I would imagine, being people in the same industry, we could support each other. Like, I see that he supports our movie. I did my best to kind of support their own movies, so I think supporting each other, maybe. The friendship, I don’t think is in the cards anymore,” she admitted.
To recall, the two reunited last June on It’s Showtime, where Karylle is a regular host. Dingdong appeared as a guest on the noontime show to promote Only We Know, his film with Charo Santos-Concio.
A lot of people gushed about it, and as per Karylle, that reunion was a beautiful moment. It showed that “all is well” between them. Karylle and Dingdong called it quits in 2008 after a three-year relationship.
Karylle is now married to singer Yael Yuzon, while Dingdong is married to Marian Rivera, with whom he has two children.
