Former Sen. Bong Revilla Mentioned during Senate Flood Probe
BONG REVILLA – The former Senator’s name is dragged into the budget insertions issue after he was mentioned during an ongoing Senate flood probe today.
Several senators and congressmen are hurled with flood control corruption accusations amid the ongoing investigation in the Senate. In the case of the probe of the lower chamber, House Speaker Bojie Dy already said that the flood control probe is best left to the ICI (Independent Commission for Infrastructure).

Both the Senate and the House of Representatives have a change in leaderships amid the flood control issue in the Philippines. Former House Speaker and Leyte Representative Martin Romualdez resigned from the top post in the chamber after the Discayas accused him of allegedly receiving flood control project kickbacks,
Aside from Romualdez, congressman Arjo Atayde, Roman Romulo, and Marcy Teodoro are also accused of allegedly receiving kickbacks from the flood control projects of the government. The same accusation is hurled at Ako Bicol Partylist Rep. Zaldy Co by the Discayas.

In the Senate, senators Jinggoy Estrada and Joel Villanueva were dragged into the flood control mess. During the ongoing Senate flood probe today, another name was dragged into the issue — former Senator Bong Revilla.

Former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Bulacan district engineer Henry Alcantara read his testimony before the senators today. Based on a report on Inquirer, he tagged former DPWH Undersecretary Robert Bernardo as allegedly his boss in the flood control corruption in the country.

Based on the report, in his testimony, former DPWH Bulacan district engr. Henry Alcantara claimed that the P300 million insertion in 2024 was allegedly for then Sen. Bong Revilla. The actor-turned-politician was running for reelection in the Senate in 2025 then.
“According to Undersecretary Bernardo, the [General Appropriations Act] insertions in 2024 amounting to P300 million, he told me were for Sen. Bong Revilla, who at that time was running for senator for 2025. Undersecretary Bernardo told me: ‘Henry, that’s for Senator Bong, maybe you’d like to help him,” Alcantara said.
Former Sen. Bong Revilla has yet to issue a statement on the recent claim of the controversial former engineer of the DPWH Bulacan District. Amid the issue, one of the congressmen tagged in the flood control mess. Quezon City Cong. Arjo Atayde, conducted a relief operation.
