EDSA Rally Erupts as Vice Ganda Throws Down Challenge to Bongbong Marcos

VICE GANDA – Phenomenal star Vice Ganda set the stage ablaze during the “Trillion Peso March” as he directly called on President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to take decisive action against corruption.

Vice Ganda delivered a fiery message to Bongbong Marcos, urging him to prove his commitment to the Filipino people by punishing those involved in corruption. “Gusto mong magkaroon ng legasiya ang pangalan mo, ipakulong mo lahat ng magnanakaw,” the comedian declared before an energized crowd at EDSA.

Vice, known for using wit and boldness both on screen and in public discussions, reminded the President that Filipinos are watching closely. “Nakatingin kami sa’yo, Pangulong Bongbong Marcos — hindi dahil idol ka namin, kundi dahil sinusuwelduhan ka namin at inaasahan namin na tutuparin mo ang inuutos naming mga employer mo,” he added.

The noontime show host joined fellow celebrities in the ongoing “Trillion Peso March,” a massive demonstration taking place along EDSA. Stars such as Anne Curtis, Iza Calzado, Donny Pangilinan, Darren Espanto, and Jasmine Curtis-Smith also lent their voices to the movement, amplifying calls for accountability and transparency in government.

The “Trillion Peso March” is one of two significant rallies organized on the same day. Earlier, demonstrators gathered at Luneta for the “Baha sa Luneta” rally, where thousands of participants expressed frustration over alleged large-scale corruption. Beyond Metro Manila, parallel protests were also staged in key cities, including Cebu, Iloilo, and Baguio.

Protesters stressed that these gatherings are not just symbolic but are meant to demand real systemic change. The timing of the rallies is particularly significant, coinciding with the 53rd anniversary of the declaration of Martial Law on September 21, 1972, under the late Ferdinand Marcos Sr. The historic date served as a reminder for many attendees of the importance of vigilance against abuse of power and corruption.

As demonstrations continue nationwide, the challenge posed by Vice to President Marcos highlights a growing sentiment: Filipinos want concrete actions, not promises, in the fight against corruption.
