Nando is forecast to move generally northwestward in the next 24 hours before turning west northwestward towards Extreme Northern Luzon,” Pagasa said.

Nando packs maximum sustained winds of 100 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 125 kph, moving northwestward at 10 kph. It also enhances the southwest monsoon.

The weather disturbance is expected to strengthen into a typhoon within the next 12 hours and a super typhoon by Monday (September 22, 2025). Nando may approach Batanes or the Babuyan Islands on Monday afternoon or evening.

The Severe Tropical Storm is set to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Tuesday morning or afternoon (September 23, 2025).

“On the forecast track, the center of Nando may pass close or may make landfall over Batanes or Babuyan Islands between Monday (September 22) afternoon or evening. It may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Tuesday (September 23) morning or noon,” the agency explained.

The weather agency advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the eastern sections of Luzon will be moderate to rough. The northern section will have moderate waters, and the remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate waters, according to PAGASA.
