Young Rider Lost His Life After Raincoat Gets Caught in Motorcycle Wheel

A young rider lost his life after the raincoat he was wearing got caught in the chain and wheel of his motorcycle.

Last September 5, 2025, a 22-year-old motorcycle rider in Barangay San Jose, Antipolo City lost his life in a tragic accident. The victim, identified as Jenny Herona, was found bloodied and lying on the road when his mother arrived at the scene.

Jenny worked hard to support his family by delivering dressed chickens to stores and homes. This was his way of helping pay for the school needs of his two younger siblings. Sadly, this routine task ended in tragedy.

According to barangay officials, Jenny’s motorcycle suddenly wobbled after the raincoat he was wearing got caught in the chain and wheel. This caused him to lose control and veer into the opposite lane.

At that moment, a van was coming from the other direction and was unable to avoid hitting him.

Witnesses said Jenny was carrying around 25 kilos of chicken deliveries when the incident happened. Authorities reminded riders to wear their raincoats properly and avoid letting them hang loose, as they can easily get stuck and cause accidents.

Jenny’s mother, Divina Herona, was devastated when she saw her son lying motionless on the road. She shared that Jenny had once dreamed of going back to school but chose to work instead to support his siblings.

Divina described him as a very kind and respectful son who never held grudges even when scolded.

Jenny was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival. The driver of the van promised to shoulder all expenses for the wake and burial.

Divina is now asking for support for the education of Jenny’s siblings, as she will now be the sole provider for their family.
