Ynez Veneracion defended Sylvia Sanchez
Veteran actress Sylvia Sanchez received support from her fellow actress Ynez Veneracion amid the corruption issue.
Sylvia’s family has been under the spotlight these past few days, especially her son, actor Arjo Atayde, who is currently the Quezon City first district representative.
Arjo was dragged by Sarah and Curlee Discaya into the alleged corruption in flood control projects. The issue was intensified by the properties and luxury that Ataydes have that were featured in vlogs.
Because of this, the celebrity family received bashing. However, fans and some of their fellow celebrities defended them. Previously, actress Alma Concepcion expressed support for Arjo Atayde and Sylvia Sanchez.
Alma pointed out that Sylvia’s properties were already there in 2021, while her son Arjo just ran for congressman in 2022. Aside from Alma, Ynez Veneracion also defended Sylvia.
In her Facebook post, Ynez shared her personal opinion about the issue. She said that she has known Sylvia since 2016. Even though Ynez had no idea about the full extent of the veteran actress’s wealth, she can say that this success came from hard work and dedication.
“Over the years, we’ve become close friends, and she even became the godmother of my child. At first, I thought she was untouchable, someone with a strong presence and high social status. But I was wrong. As I got to know her better, I discovered the real her,” Ynez shared.
She also shared that she had seen Sylvia’s properties, like the yacht and rest houses, and this did not come from a shortcut because persistence and effort were made to have these properties.
Ynez also highlighted that it is touching for her to see how Sylvia deals with other people. It is with humility, respect, and love. For her, the veteran actress has a golden heart, and she truly, genuinely, and unconditionally loves her friends.
Ynez stressed that even before the family entered politics, they had already experienced this success. “When I learned that Cong. Arjo planned to run for Congress. I saw his intentions as pure to help others and give back the blessings they earned through hard work. It saddens me that many people judge without understanding the truth, hurling harsh words and accusations without consideration,” Ynez said.
She added that the truth will soon be revealed and those who are trying to destroy the Ataydes with “lies” should be held accountable. Ynez Veneracion had this message for Sylvia Sanchez and Arjo Atayde, “Stay strong. We know the truth, and we believe in you. We stand with you through this storm. This too shall pass. We see this as just another trial your family must face.”
The former sultry star also pointed out that politics can be a dirty game, even though the goal of a person is just to help, because some other people would try to pull them down.
