Filipino social media star Emmanuelle ‘Emman’ Atienza died, and according to reports, “ligature hanging” was the manner of her death. Many people were shocked to hear the news, and were saddened to also know that she was just 19 years old. She was supposed to have a full life ahead of her.
In a previous article, Emman’s last posts online revealed how the critical comments she received online affected her deeply and greatly. Her death was a realization of how pointed words can cut the deepest. Her story was another story of how real mental health is.
Emman was the daughter of Kim Atienza, and on TikTok, she was known for showcasing her fun and relatable personality. She had two siblings, Jose and Eliana. Recently, her sister Eliana penned a longing message for Emman.
Every word Eliana wrote spoke of deep, enduring sorrow and love. She was as if saying she misses Emman not just right now, but for always. It conveyed how much Emman meant to her entire being.
Even though Emman is gone, Eliana can still find her everywhere, even in small, quiet moments.
“We were supposed to co-create a better world where our children could play together, and we could laugh knowing we fought and struggled to build this for them,” she added, and could only hope that her message could reach Emman wherever she is right now.
Emman is the youngest daughter of TV host and news personality Kuya Kim Atienza and Felicia Hung, the president of the Philippine Eagle Foundation. She is of Filipino and Taiwanese descent.
