Vice Ganda created his own lyrics for the song ‘Banal Na Aso’
Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda amused concertgoers with his Banal Na Aso performance featuring his own lyrics mentioning Sarah Discaya and Zaldy Co.
Banal Na Aso, Santong Kabayo was released by the ’90s band Yano in 1994. The song was a criticism of hypocritical people, and Vice used this theme to attack controversial personalities allegedly involved in the anomalous flood control projects.
Sarah Discaya is the owner of the construction company dealing with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), while Zaldy Co previously served as a representative for the Ako Bicol Partylist before not returning to the Philippines amid the corruption accusation against him.
Vice Ganda, in a recent ASAP show in Vancouver, Canada, had his performance featuring the tune of Banal Na Aso, Santong Kabayo. The start of the song featured the intro of the Whitney Houston song I Have Nothing.
When the Unkabogable Star started to sing, his lyrics tackled a story about a car in front of the jeepney he was riding on, which was followed by 40 other cars. “Iniisip ko kung sino ang babae, Sarah Discaya pala ang sakay ng kotse,” Vice sang.
Then, the next portion of the song was about a pretentious man showing sympathy to the poor Filipinos. “Akala mo kung sinong santo, kasabwat ka pala ni Zaldy Co,” the It’s Showtime host sang.
This performance that Vice offered to his fellow Pinoys in Canada received messages of support from netizens. “Best version,” a netizen commented, while the other one said, “Go Go Vice dhil Ikaw lng malakas na lumaban sa mga magnanakaw.”
