In a new post, Maine Mendoza speaks again for her husband, Arjo Atayde.
Kapuso host Maine Mendoza defends Arjo Atayde anew after he was mentioned and dragged into the anomalies of flood control projects.
Quezon City 1st District Representative Arjo Atayde was accused by controversial contractors Curlee and Sarah Discaya as among those involved in the kickback controversy related to the anomalous flood control projects.

He was named among the politicians who solicited money from the firm of the Discayas.
In a previous article, Maine Mendoza, in a post, immediately came to defend her husband, who, for her, was wrongly accused. In a new post, she again spoke to defend her husband, and this time, in a more articulate manner.
She again rejected the accusations against Atayde and admitted that for the past days, the words and comments thrown at them indeed stung, but they are not letting these words define them and dismiss the hard work they have put in to afford and maintain the lifestyle they have now.
“Not a single part of our life has been built on taxpayers’ money. Everything we have comes from years of work and savings. We pay our taxes, and we pay them truthfully, because we respect the same system we are accused of betraying,” she said.
To her, it’s just offensive to be criticized when they spend the money they worked hard for and “reduce everything that we are and everything that we have worked for to that single narrative” – it’s the narrative that they stole and live off taxpayers’ money that she could never accept. And it’s a narrative her husband never did and will never do.
She added, “That is not who Arjo is, that is not who I am, and that is not who we are—no amount of noise and accusations will ever make it true.”
According to her, she would never stand for him if he were guilty of committing such a crime.
The 30-year-old celebrity acknowledged how infuriating the corrupt officials are for putting their personal interests above everything else. However, people are directing their rage at them by mistake. As per her words, they are condemning the wrong people.
They believe that the truth will eventually surface, and once this happens, she could only hope that those who lambasted them for wrong accusations would realize how harsh and rude their words were.
Mendoza also noted that “legal actions will be taken” and added that Arjo will prove his innocence.
