Discaya Couple Names Arjo Atayde, Some Congressmen As Allegedly Asking Money from their DPWH Projects
ARJO ATAYDE – The actor-turned-politician was one of the congressmen name-dropped by the Discaya couple who allegedly receive money from them.
Countless Filipinos were left dismayed by the flood control mess in the Philippines now. Billions of government funds were spent for flood control projects but many areas remain as flood-prone areas that are usually left with deep flooding whenever heavy rains hit the country.
Amid the issue, the Senate launched its own investigation and invited the contractors that were flagged by Pres. Bongbong Marcos. At a press conference, Marcos Jr. revealed that the country has spent over P500 billion already for the flood control projects and he also cited the 15 contractors who got around P100 billion of the said spending on government flood control deals since the start of his term until May 2025:

The Senate launched its own investigation on the flood control mess in the country. It invited the contractors that were flagged by Marcos Jr. In a previous Senate hearing, one of those who attended was Sarah Discaya, the owner and president of the Alpha and Omega Gen. Contractor & Development Corp.
Undeniably, the Discaya couple, Curlee and Sarah, are the most well-known among the contractors flagged by the President. They were previously interviewed by Korina Sanchez and Julius Babao wherein they flaunted their lavish lifestyle which includes having a lot of luxury cars.
At the hearing, it was confirmed that the couple owns 28 luxury cars. Sarah Discaya also admitted that she owns 9 construction firms and there were instances when they bid for the same projects of the DPWH (Department of Public Works and Highways).

Currently, there is an ongoing Senate flood hearing that invited both Curlee and Sarah Discaya. Based on a post of News5 on social media, during the hearing, Mr. Discaya read their written claims that there are DPWH officials and congressmen who allegedly demanded money from them over the projects awarded to them.
One of the congressmen named by the Discayas is Quezon City Representative Arjo Atayde. The actor-turned-politician who was one of the most popular and multi-awarded actors in the entertainment industry before he entered politics is currently serving his second term as congressman.
Aside from Arjo Atayde, the Discaya couple also made the same accusation towards Pasig City Rep. Roman Romulo and Marikina Rep. Marcy Teodoro. Based on the post, they also pinned down the following:

Amid the flood control issue, the Bureau of Customs secured the custody of all of the 28 luxury cars of the Discayas. The contractor licenses of the 9 construction firms of Curlee and Sarah Discaya were also revoked.
