Militant Group Members Throw Mud at Construction Firm’s Gate in Protest

Several militant group members were seen throwing mud at the gate of St. Gerrard Constructions owned by Discaya Family.

Recently, the Facebook page of Bombo Radyo Koronadal shared a video showing the gate of St. Gerrard Constructions being pelted with mud by the people. The post quickly went viral and received various reactions online.

In the video, a group of disaster survivors and environmental advocates made a bold statement by throwing mud at the gate of St. Gerrard Constructions in Pasig City. The construction firm is owned by the Discaya family and is currently being linked to alleged irregularities in flood control projects.

According to the protesters, these projects have failed to address flooding problems in their communities, leaving many residents to suffer during heavy rains. They called on Sarah Discaya, a member of the family behind the construction firm, to face the public and address the allegations currently being investigated.

The act of throwing mud was symbolic, representing their demand for accountability and justice.

For the protesters, it was their way of expressing the struggles they continue to face after repeated floods and their desire for responsible and transparent action from those in charge of public works.

Aside from throwing mud, the group also carried spray paint while shouting the phrases “Discaya ikulong” “kurakot panagutin” and “Discaya magnanakaw”.

Some netizens were supporting the group’s call for accountability and others criticizing the method of protest. Many, however, agreed that the issue shows the need for proper flood control measures that genuinely protect communities.
