Content Creator Earns Admiration for Building 3 Classrooms for Lumad Community
A content creator went viral and earned praise online after building three classrooms for students in a Lumad community.
Education is one of the most important foundations a child can have, yet many students in far-flung areas still struggle to study in unsafe and uncomfortable classrooms. While billions are spent on government projects that often fail to reach the poor, there are individuals who step in to help where they can.
Recently, the content creator Lucky Calotes popularly known online as KingLuckss builds three classrooms for the Lumad community. The video quickly circulated on social media and elicited comments from netizens.
in the video, Calotes shared how he and his team traveled through sugarcane fields, muddy roads, streams, and rough terrain just to reach the remote village.
“Pagdating ko po dito, ang itsura po ng paaralan na ito ay kawayan lang po at wala pang dingding. Parang bahay lang ng baboy o kulungan lang ng manok,” Calotes said.
According to Calotes, it took them nearly three months to finish building the classrooms. Before this project, the students and teachers used to study in bamboo huts with no walls, making it impossible to hold classes when it rained.
Teacher Salimar, who serves the community, shared how heartbreaking it was when strong winds destroyed their only makeshift classrooms, forcing them to send students home.
The children now have a safe and comfortable place to study. The new walls protect them from rain and wind, and the community feels more hopeful about the future.
“Grabe ‘yong di mabayarang saya ng mga dito dito. Hindi lang teachers at mga estudyante, pero ang buong community ay tuwang tuwa,” he added.
Calotes expressed that this is the most meaningful content he has ever created since becoming a content creator, saying the happiness of the students, teachers, and the entire community was worth all the effort.
