Class Suspensions for Monday (September 1, 2025) Due to Heavy Rains
WALANG PASOK – Several local government units have declared class suspensions for Monday (September 1, 2025) due to heavy rains.
Filipinos are getting an unplanned break today, as classes and government work are suspended in Metro Manila and several provinces due to continuous heavy rains. The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) made the announcement after overnight downpours caused flooding in some areas.
PAGASA explained that the southwest monsoon, or habagat, is currently affecting the country, intensified by a low-pressure area east of Catanduanes. While the system is unlikely to become a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, it is expected to bring 50 to 100 millimeters of rainfall that may trigger flash floods and landslides.
