According to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, she sees budget cuts from the P903-million proposed budget of the OVP for 2026 citing the Marcos administration. According to her, the President and the House Speaker are still the same.

The Filipino populace witnessed a souring relationship between Duterte and Marcos Jr. after she resigned her post as the education secretary in 2024. This year, she was impeached by the House of Representatives which is led by presidential cousin and House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
