PAGASA Says LPA and Southwest Monsoon to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that a low-pressure area and habagat will bring rains over most parts of the country.
On Monday (September 1, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. A low-pressure area and the southwest monsoon will bring rains over parts of the country.
PAGASA weather specialist Veronica Torres reported that two low-pressure areas and the Southwest Monsoon will bring rains over several areas.

The first low-pressure area was spotted 675 kilometers east of Borongan City, Eastern Samar. The other one was last located at 570 kilometers east northeast of Virac, Catanduanes or 695 km. east of Daet, Camarines Norte.
The LPA in the Bicol region is unlikely to become a tropical cyclone, but the other one in Northern Visayas has a low chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours. It may become the 11th storm in 2025.

The LPA will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Aurora, Bulacan, Quezon, and Rizal.
The southwest monsoon will bring similar weather conditions over partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga.
Habagat will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga.
The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over the rest of the country.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the western section of Luzon, the western section of Visayas, and Mindanao will be moderate. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.
