DOE to Impose Oil Price Hike on Tuesday (September 2, 2025)
FUEL PRICE UPDATE – Various gasoline stations in the country are set to implement an oil price hike this week.
On Monday (September 1, 2025), oil companies announced new price hikes that will take effect on Tuesday (September 2, 2025), marking the third straight week of increases for gasoline and the second for diesel and kerosene.
Starting at 6:00 a.m., Shell, Caltex, and Seaoil will roll out the following adjustments: gasoline up by P0.70 per liter, diesel up by P1.00, and kerosene up by P0.70. Cleanfuel and Petro Gazz will follow the same price changes, except for kerosene which they do not sell. Cleanfuel will implement its adjustments later in the day at 4:01 p.m.

The Department of Energy earlier warned that motorists could expect higher prices this week. Officials pointed to a sharper-than-expected drop in US crude oil inventories and the possible effects of new US tariffs on India, which could tighten global supply.
Industry observers added that global oil prices have been climbing as concerns grow over possible disruptions caused by Russia and Ukraine’s escalating attacks on energy facilities. New US sanctions targeting Russian crude buyers are also raising fears of limited supply in the coming weeks.

The latest increase follows last week’s adjustments when gasoline prices went up by P0.70 per liter, diesel by P0.50, and kerosene by P0.30. So far this year, gasoline prices have risen by P12.20 per liter, diesel by P12.45, and kerosene by P2.05.
With the “ber” months just beginning, public transport drivers and private car owners alike are bracing for higher operating costs. Many are hoping that global oil prices stabilize soon so that fuel costs will not keep climbing as the holiday season approaches.
