The recent visit of all four (4) Duterte siblings to former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte was the first time that all of them were allowed by the ICC to visit their detained father inside the detention center altogether. According to the Vice President, it was really the request of the former President.

Following their visit to their father, some of the Duterte siblings graced interviews. They were asked about their two cents on the flood control projects issue in the Philippines.

Malacañang Claire Castro

According to Malacañang press officer undersecretary Claire Castro, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte should just give her advice for a flood solution if she has learned anything from her overseas trips to her younger brother, acting Davao Mayor Baste Duterte.

“Ayaw nyang magbigay ng free advice para sa bansa?! Kung may natutunan na siyang solusyon sa pagsugpo sa problema sa pagbaha sa bansa sa dami ng kanyang byahe, ibigay na nya ang free advice niya kay Acting Mayor Baste ng Davao City,” Castro said.

Furthermore, based on the report, the Malacañang press officer said that the government will just wait and see the results of the flood solutions of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. According to Castro, it will be evident if Davao City no longer experiences flooding.

“Abangan na lang natin kung epektibo at kung ‘di na babaha sa kanilang lungsod,” the Malacañang press official said.

Amid the controversy which has earned countless reactions, acting Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte believes that the flood control project issues in the Philippines is allegedly used as a “publicity stunt”. He also claimed that they have their own flood control plans in Davao City.
