Several local government units have announced the suspension of classes on Wednesday, August 27. The declaration is due to inclement weather brought about by a low pressure area over the Philippine Sea and the southwest monsoon. It is expected to have scattered rains over Luzon, Visayas, and western and central Mindanao until Thursday.

Classes at all levels are suspended in the following areas:

- Anini-y (shift to distance learning)
- Barbaza
- Belison
- Bugasong (shift to distance learning)
- Patnongon
- San Remigio
- Sebaste
- Tobias Fornier
- Valderrama (shift to distance learning)
Cotabato
- Kidapawan (shift to distance learning)
Negros Occidental
- Cauayan (shift to distance learning)
- Hinigaran (shift to distance learning)
- Hinoba-an (shift to distance learning)
- Himamaylan
- Ilog (shift to distance learning; until lifted)
- Isabela (shift to distance learning)
- Kabankalan
- La Castellana (until lifted)
- Sipalay (shift to distance learning)
Negros Oriental
- Ayungon (shift to distance learning; until lifted)
- Jimalalud
Zamboanga del Norte
- Labason
