PAGASA Says LPA to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that a low-pressure area will bring rain over parts of the country.
On Monday (August 25, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. A low-pressure area will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA weather specialist Daniel Villamil reported that a low-pressure area inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility will bring rains despite a slim chance of developing into a tropical depression in the next 24 hours.

The LPA was last spotted at 365 km east of Maasin City, Southern Leyte. It will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Visayas, Bicol Region, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Quezon.
“Because of the low-pressure area, we will experience scattered rains and thunderstorms in the Bicol region and Quezon. Because of the southwest monsoon, Occidental Mindoro will see overcast skies,” Villamil said.
50 to 100 mm of rainfall is expected over Albay, Sorsogon, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Leyte, and Southern.

“Because of the LPA, Visayas, Caraga, and Northern Mindanao are forecast to experience rainy weather,” Villamil explained.
The Southwest Monsoon will bring similar weather conditions over Zamboanga Peninsula, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan.
The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
“Most parts of BARMM, Soccsksargen, and Davao Region will see fair weather, but expect rains in late afternoon to evening,” he added.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The coastal water conditions over the eastern sections of Luzon and Visayas will be moderate. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.
