PAGASA Says LPA to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that a low-pressure area will bring rain over parts of the country.
On Thursday (August 21, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. A low-pressure area will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA weather specialist Loriedin De La Cruz-Galicia reported that Metro Manila and several provinces in Luzon and the Visayas are expected to experience rain.

A low-pressure area was spotted 705 kilometers East of Infanta inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. It has a chance to develop into a tropical depression.
“This means its chance of developing will be after 24 hours or beyond the 24-hour period,” Galicia said.
The LPA’s trough is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Bicol Region, CALABARZON, Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, and Biliran.

“In our analysis, its path remains generally west-northwestward, and it is possible that it will traverse or cross northern or Central Luzon in the coming days,” she added
The southwest monsoon will bring similar weather conditions over the rest of Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Tawi-Tawi, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan.
The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the remaining parts of the country.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
The coastal water conditions across the country will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.
