OFW Mom Wants to Sue Sibling Instead of Boyfriend Accused of Hurting Her Child

An OFW mom wants to sue her sibling instead of her boyfriend who was allegedly hurting her five-year-old child.

Recently, a Pinoy OFW has drawn criticism after saying she has no plans to file a case against her live-in partner, who was caught on video allegedly hurting her five-year-old child. Instead, she expressed her intention to sue her own sister for posting the video online.

“Sobrang stress ko po dito, doon dahil sa ginawang post po ng kapatid ko na ‘yon. Iaatras ko po ‘yung kaso ng jowa ko, Sir. Kasi binastos na rin ho ako sa social media. Sirang-sira na rin ho ako,” she said.

The video shows the child being hurt by the stepfather. The sister explained that she shared it because she wanted justice for her young nephew. But the OFW mother said the post brought her shame and caused her to be attacked online.

The OFW mom stressed that her privacy and that of her child had been violated, which is why she is now focused on holding her sister accountable.

The controversy deepened after the mother also accused her sister of physically hurting the child in the past. She claimed this was the reason she entrusted her son to her boyfriend. Her sister denied the allegations, saying the child has been well cared for in their home.

Pinay migrant worker also refused to hand over the boy, fearing he might again be left with people outside the family.

According to the reports, child was slapped, kicked, and choked by the mother’s partner. The man, however, denied the accusations. Despite this, he is now facing a child abuse complaint filed by the child’s uncle.

According to the Caloocan City Social Welfare Department, the boy may be placed under their custody if the investigation proves that both the mother and aunt are unfit to care for him. Authorities emphasized that the child’s safety and well-being will be their priority while the case continues.
