A driver is set to face penalties after being caught on camera changing his vehicle’s plate while parked along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX). 

Recently, a male driver was caught on camera was caught changing the plate of this vehicle. His actions did not sit well with netizens and garnered various reactions from the online community. 

The video even caught the attention of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Land Transportation Office (LTO). According to reports, the driver was seen replacing his car’s official plate with a temporary one while parked at an establishment along the expressway.

The photo was shared on the Facebook page “Parkeserye,” which often features traffic-related incidents. The post gained attention, leading to quick action from authorities. 

The LTO has ordered a 90-day suspension of the driver’s license while an investigation is ongoing. To ensure accountability, his vehicle has also been placed under alarm, preventing any transaction involving the car until the case is resolved.

A show cause order has already been issued, requiring the driver to explain his actions. He was directed to surrender his license on the scheduled hearing date. The move aims to give him a chance to provide his side before further penalties are decided. 

While the driver has yet to release a statement, the incident has drawn reactions from the public, with many expressing concern about the possible reasons behind switching plates. For authorities, such acts are treated seriously as they can be linked to attempts to evade traffic rules, toll payments, or even bigger violations. 

“He is hereby directed to surrender his driver’s license on the date of the scheduled hearing. Meanwhile, the above said motor vehicle…is hereby placed under ALARM, preventing any and all transactions while under investigation,” DOTr said.
