Office of Pres. Bongbong Marcos Seeks Higher Budget for 2026 Trips
BONGBONG MARCOS – The Office of the President is asking a little over P1 billion budget for the local and foreign travels of the Chief Executive.
The National Expenditure Program (NEP) for the proposed 2026 budget is now in the hands of the House of Representatives. The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) submitted it to House Speaker Martin Romualdez yesterday.

Following the transfer of the NEP for the budget deliberation of the Congress, Pres. Bongbong Marcos called on the Congress to “swiftly enact” the proposed 2026 budget. He also called on the Senate and the House to work together with the executive to achieve the administration’s target of a “Bagong Pilipinas”.
Marcos Jr. claimed that the country is on track for its “Agenda of Prosperity”. He also believes that the country can be a leader among the nations most especially in the Asia Pacific region.

On the other side, the President recognized that there is still so much to rebuild in the country despite that the nation has already recovered from the pandemic. He revealed the budget appropriations for some of the key departments in the government.

According to Pres. Bongbong Marcos, the following key departments are proposed to have the following budget for the Fiscal Year 2026:
- Department of Education (DepEd) — P928.5 billion
- Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) — P881.3 billion
- Department of Health (DOH) — P320.5 billion
- Department of National Defense (DND) — P299.3 billion
- Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) — P287.5 billion
- Department of Agriculture (DA) — P239.2 billion
- Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) — P227.0 billion
- Department of Transportation (DOTr) — P197.3 billion
- Judiciary Department — P67.9 billion
- Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) — P55.2 billion

Based on a report on GMA News, with regards to the budget for the trips of Pres. Bongbong Marcos in 2026, his office is seeking a little over the 2025 fund. The OP is asking for P1,018,304,000 for the local and foreign travels of the Chief Executive next year.
The current budget request is slightly higher from the P982,649,000 budget granted for the 2025 travels of Marcos Jr. Based on the report, this year, the President has visited the United States of America and the Republic of India. He has also participated in the ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The Office of the President is asking for a total of P27.362 billion — several billions higher than its P15.9 billion for this year. The office of Pres. Bongbong Marcos is also poised to get the biggest confidential and intel funds for 2026.
