Authorities Rescued 3-Year-Old Girl After Being Kidnapped by Household Helper

A three-year-old girl was rescued along FPJ Avenue in Quezon City, after she was kidnapped by their 24-year-old household helper.

On Monday, August 11, 2025, the police authorities rescued a little girl after she was kidnapped by their household helper.

According to Masambong Police Station chief PLt. Col. Rolando Baula, the incident began on Sunday night, August 10, 2025, when the helper told the child’s parents she needed to get something from a house across the street and took the girl along.

Hours passed, and when they still hadn’t returned after three hours, the parents became alarmed and reported the matter to the police.

While at the station, the family received a message from the suspect demanding P150,000 in exchange for the child’s release. She also asked for her personal belongings left at the house. To prove she had the girl, the suspect even sent a photo of the child.

Investigators found that the suspect had traveled with the girl to a terminal in Parañaque City, then later took a taxi to Cubao. When the terminal there was closed, she headed toward EDSA-Muñoz. Finally, she arranged to meet for the ransom pickup along FPJ Avenue.

Police moved in during the exchange, arresting the suspect on the spot and rescuing the child unharmed.

Authorities confirmed the woman had no previous criminal record and had been working for the family for two years. She admitted to the crime, claiming she needed money to pay debts related to a medical operation.

She is now detained at the Masambong Police Station and faces charges of kidnap-for-ransom. Police reminded families to thoroughly check the background of household helpers, including securing clearances from the NBI, PNP, or barangay, to ensure trust and safety at home.
