MALACAÑANG – Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro claimed they have no information about the whereabouts of Vice President Sara Duterte.
The Senate recently discussed the ruling of the Supreme Court on the Articles of Impeachment against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Ahead of the opening of the 20th Congress, the Supreme Court declared the impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte as “unconstitutional”.

According to the court, the impeachment complaint against the Vice President did not follow the one-year rule with regards to impeachments. On the other side, the complainants maintained that while there were four (4) impeachment complaints filed against Duterte in 2024, the other three (3) impeachment complaints were archived.
The ruling of the Supreme Court was immediately executory but a motion of reconsideration may be filed. Some complainants have filed a motion for reconsideration of the Supreme Court ruling and the House did as well.

After the opening of the 20th Congress, Senate Pres. Chiz Escudero announced that the senators have agreed to decide on the Supreme Court ruling of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s impeachment complaint on August 6. Several senators were able to express their side.

The discussion ended with 19 senators voting for the impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte to be archived. It was a changed motion for Senate Blue Ribbon Committee Rodante Marcoleta who earlier moved to dismiss the impeachment case against the Vice President.
Amid the Senate session over her impeachment case, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s whereabouts is unknown to Malacañang and even to her office. Atty. Ruth Castelo, the spokesperson of the Office of the Vice President, was asked where the Vice President was during the Senate session but she responded that she will verify it first .
“Who knows? She can just be in the office, a few steps away [from us],” the OVP Spokesperson said.
Based on a post on Inquirer, Malacañang has no information on the whereabouts of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte now. According to Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro, the latest travel authorizations issued to Duterte were for her recent trips to the Netherlands and South Korea.

Based on the report, Malacañang confirmed receiving reports that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is planning to travel to Kuwait. However, according to Castro, they have yet to receive a request for a travel authority to Kuwait.
“Mayroon daw balak ang bise presidente na pumunta sa Kuwait ng August 8, pero as we speak wala pa pong naihahain na request for travel authority ang bise presidente,” the Malacañang official.
During the Senate session, known Duterte ally Sen. Bong Go asked his fellow senators to move on after he voted in support for the archiving of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s impeachment case.
With all the billions of pesos for the president’s CF, Malacanang knows but they chose to put the VP in a bad light. They do not care, they want the Dutertes wiped out from the face of the earth.
And what if they knew? They are busy concocting another case just to remove Sara Duterte.
