Regine Velasquez shared this about her relationship with Ogie Alcasid
Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez admitted that the start of her relationship with her husband, singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid.
The celebrity couple tied the knot in 2010. It is known to many people that Ogie was previously married to former beauty queen Michelle van Eimeren.
In a recent interview on the YouTube channel of showbiz reporter Aster Amoyo, Regine talked about the start of her relationship with her husband.
The Asia’s Songbird said that it was painful for him at that time because of the negative comments she received from other people.
When they started their relationship, Ogie was still married to Michelle. “It was the people judging us that were difficult. And since I was in the business, I was heavily judged. Malaking iskandalo ‘yun e,” Regine Velasquez shared.
She revealed that she and Ogie broke up several times, “Ang daming beses naming naghiwalay kasi ayoko na. I don’t wanna ruin their family. ‘Kawawa ang mga anak mo’, parang ganu’n,” the Asia’s Songbird said.
However, Ogie refused to break up with Regine, so they remained together. The female singer said that her husband would say that he would die if they were to separate, because the male singer had already decided to be with her.
Ogie stood by Regine. The male singer formally ended his relationship with his ex-wife when he and Regine became a couple officially.
“Tinama rin naman niya ‘yung life niya kasi ayaw din naman niya ng ganu’n lang,” Regine added.
In the same interview, Regine Velasquez shared that the issue was resolved when she and Michelle van Eimeren became friends. With this, Regine said that the children will just suffer if the ex-couples do not find in their hearts the forgiveness that they should to each other.
Regine Velasquez also stressed that it is possible to have a good relationship with an ex-partner and that both parties should just be more open and forgiving, as well as willing to have that good connection.
