DSWD Set to Help Little Girl Spotted Walking in the Middle of the Street While Carrying Knife

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – DSWD is set to help the little girl who was seen carrying a knife while walking in the middle of the street. 

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is stepping in to help a young girl who recently went viral after she was spotted walking in the middle of the street while holding a knife. 

The disturbing incident caught public attention and raised questions about the child’s safety and well-being. The video has a caption: “Bata pa mangingikil na.. Nasaan kaya mga magulang nito..? Alarming..!!” 

DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian confirmed that the girl has already been identified. According to initial findings, her mother is struggling with drug dependency, which may have affected the child’s current condition and environment. 

The young girl is now under the care of the Las Piñas City local government. She is currently undergoing assessment to better understand her needs and situation. Authorities are making sure she receives proper attention from professionals, including social workers and health experts. 

After the evaluation, the child will be transferred to a DSWD shelter. There, she will receive the support and care she needs from basic necessities to counseling and rehabilitation services. The agency aims to give her a safe and nurturing space, away from harm and negative influences. 

The incident reminds the public of the importance of child protection and the role of the community in reporting and responding to unusual or dangerous situations involving children. The girl is now in safer hands and on her way to getting the help she needs. 

DSWD assures the public that they will continue to monitor the case and provide the necessary interventions to help the child recover and rebuild her life in a more stable and supportive environment.
