Larry Gadon Worried over Baste Duterte, Volunteers To Be Referee in Boxing Match

Presidential Counsel Larry Gadon Speaks on Torre-Duterte Possible Charity Boxing Match

LARRY GADON – The disbarred lawyer who is now part of the Marcos Jr. administration wants to be a referee in the boxing match between PNP chief Police General Nicolas Torre III and Davao City acting Mayor Baste Duterte.

Currently, countless Filipinos are doubting if there would indeed be a boxing match between the chief of the Philippine National Police and the son of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte after PNP chief Nicolas Torre III agreed to a “charity boxing match” with Davao City acting Mayor Baste Duterte. He wants the funds that will be raised to be donated to the victims of flood and the typhoon.

Duterte previously claimed that Torre is allegedly brave because he is in the position but he can take him down on a “fistfight”. The PNP Chief agreed to it and proposed to have a boxing match saying that it is easier to set up.

Torre also proposed that they will have a 12-round boxing match with a sponsor in every round so they can gather a huge amount of money. According to him, he will donate all of his share from the match to the flood and typhoon victims.

PNP Chief Nicolas Torre recently claimed that his possible boxing match with Davao acting Mayor Baste Duterte will be at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum and not the Araneta Coliseum which he previously proposed. According to him, the boxing ring is already being set for the Sunday match.

Torre also claimed that they already have sponsors for the boxing match. According to him, whether or not Duterte will show up, the sponsors have agreed to donate for the typhoon and flood victims.

Recently, a disbarred lawyer who is now part of the Marcos admin, Larry Gadon, showed an interest to play a significant role in the possible boxing match between PNP chief Nicolas Torre and Davao City acting Mayor Baste Duterte. Based on a post of PhilStar, he wants to be a referee of the possible boxing match.

Larry Gadon who is the Presidential Adviser for Poverty Alleviation under the Marcos admin since 2023 claimed that he is worried over Davao City acting Mayor Baste Duterte. He believes in the capacity of PNP chief Nicolas Torre III to leave his opponent seriously injured.

“Kung sakaling matuloy ang exhibition match na charity boxing fight ni Gen. Torre at ni Baste ay nagvo-volunteer ako na maging referee because I’m worried that Gen. Torre might inflict a catastrophic injury on Baste. Dahil ‘yang si Gen. Torre, astig ‘yan at mayroong iniinum ‘yan na energy drink, coffee,” Gadon said.

Furthermore, based on the post, Larry Gadon said he is worried that PNP chief Nicolas Torre III may be carried away by his emotions and may inflict serious injuries towards Davao City acting Mayor Baste Duterte. According to him, he wants to be a referee so he can stop the boxers when things are too much already.

“Ako ay nagwo-worry diyan kay Gen. Torre baka ma-carried away siya at ah masobrahan ang pagsusuntok niya kay Baste at ayoko naman na magkaroon ng serious injury diyan dahil ito naman ay isang sports game lamang,” he said.

The claim of Larry Gadon gathered different reactions from the netizens on social media. However, the chance for their boxing match to push through seemingly decreased after Davao City acting Mayor Baste Duterte laid his own conditions for a boxing match with the PNP Chief.
