Spox of House of Representatives Reacts To Claim of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte
House of Representatives spokesperson Atty. Princess Abante reacted to the claim of Vice President Sara Duterte over former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s detention under the custody of the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is currently in The Hague, Netherlands for her father, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte, who is detained under the custody of the ICC since March. He is faced with an allegation of crimes against humanity over the war on drugs of the previous administration.
Vice pres. Sara Duterte recently claimed that the ICC and Pres. Bongbong Marcos allegedly used each other in the arrest and the transfer of custody of her father. According to her, the foreign court allegedly wants to take Duterte while the Marcos administration wants to keep him away from the country.
The Vice President claimed that her father’s ICC detention is allegedly due to gossips and the collusion between the Marcos admin and the ICC. Recently, the House of Representatives reacted to the claim of the younger Duterte.
House of Representatives spokesperson Atty. Princess Abante claimed that it was allegedly the statement of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte which is based on gossip. Based on a report on GMA News, the spox of the lower chamber stressed that the ICC detention of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is based on evidence.
“Well, ‘yung statement ni VP ay base sa ‘marites.’ Ang kaso doon sa ICC ay ayon sa ebidensya. Siguro [dapat] doon tayo tututok: kung ano iyong pinagbabasehan ng mga reklamo,” the House spox said in a press conference.
Atty. Princess Abante stressed that the ICC detention of former Pres. Duterte is not based on any gossip but on the evidence and the testimonies of the witnesses. The House spokesperson also addressed the allegation of the Vice President that Marcos Jr. is supposedly being used by the ICC to persecute her father.
Based on the report, Atty. Abante stressed that, as a lawyer, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte knows the process of the judicial bodies like the ICC and what they should do. She also stressed that Duterte have their defense lawyer to assert it before the Court.
Previously, Zambales First District Representative Jay Khonghun also defended Pres. Bongbong Marcos from the accusations of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte that the Marcos admin and the ICC allegedly went into a collusion in the arrest of FPRRD.
sara duterte is very shallow minded, she cant say anything with substance. a spoiled brat that grows she can have everything she wants.. it becomes normal to her. she dont run in public office to serve the people but to robbed them for personal gains. this kinds of people doesnt deserve to continue hold public positions. very dangerous and disastrous! We cannot let someone like this destroy our country and our future…
