Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, Co-Accused Appeal To Be Allowed to Post Bail
APOLLO QUIBOLOY – A regional court in Pasig denied the Pastor’s petition for bail as well as the request of his co-accused.
In 2024, one of the huge personalities arrested by the Philippine authorities was Pastor Quiboloy, the founder and leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ or KOJC. Prior to it, the Philippine National Police (PNP) did an intensified search at the KOJC compound in Davao City.

The Pastor is faced with several accusations. In January, the camp of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy filed a motion seeking for him to be allowed to post bail. Recently, a court in Pasig issued its decision on the request of the Pastor’s camp.
Based on a report on GMA News, the Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 159 junked the request of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy to be allowed to post bail for his temporary liberty. In the same 23-page order, the court also denied the separate petitions filed by the co-accused of the KOJC Founder.

Aside from Pastor Quiboloy, several co-accused of the KOJC leader appealed for bail. They are Sylvia Cemañes, Jackielyn Roy, Paulene Canada, Ingrid Canada, and Cresente Canada. According to the court, “the prosecution has sufficiently shown that the evidence of guilt against all the accused is strong on the two crimes”.

Meanwhile, based on the report, in its order, the Pasig court clarified that its decision on the appeal of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and his co-accused does not determine the ultimate result of the charges filed against them. According to the court, the process ahead is long and both parties have the chance to present further evidence to prove their claim.

Based on the report, Pastor Quiboloy’s camp has yet to issue a comment on the outcome of the appeal for bail while the camp of the complainant welcomed the ruling of the court. According to private prosecutor Atty. Joahna Paula Domingo, they are hopeful that justice is within reach.
“We are so happy and grateful that the Petition for Bail of Quiboloy et al has been denied, meaning that the Honorable Court found that the evidence of guilt is strong,” she said.
During the 2025 Midterm Elections, amid his detention, the Pastor ran for senator but lost. Following the release of the results of the election, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy called for a manual recount of the votes.
