Apart from the golden buzzer, Jessica Sanchez also revealed her pregnancy.
Filipino-American singer Jessica Sanchez got the golden buzzer at America’s Got Talent (AGT) from judge-actress Sofia Vergara.
She is back and is making waves! Filipino-American singer Jessica Sanchez returned to audition for “America’s Got Talent” and became sensational after earning a golden buzzer from judge Sofia Vergara. This means that she is officially heading to the live shows of AGT’s 20th season.
Her performance, where she sang a rendition of “Beautiful Things” by American singer Benson Boone, was aired on July 15. The judges praised her“angelic voice” and “wonderful performance,” and these things moved Sofia Vergara to press the golden buzzer for her, putting her at an advantage.
To recall, the last time people saw her was during American Idol Season 11 in 2012. She shared recalling this moment and what happened after, “Throughout the years I kind a fell out of love of music because I was really young, I was so swayed by what everybody wanted me to be, who they wanted me to be. And so, maybe it took me 20 years, but I know exactly who I am. And, I know exactly what I want. I’m excited to be back.”
Sanchez joined AGT in its inaugural 2006 season. She was a wildcard but did not make it to the finals.
Apart from the golden buzzer, she also gleefully shared her pregnancy. She has been married to Rickie Gallardo since 2021 and is expecting their first child.
Vergara, who pressed the golden buzzer, expressed that there’s something about her appearing on the show’s 20th anniversary, the 20th season of AGT, after 20 years of stepping out of the limelight.
Sanchez was born in San Diego, California, in 1995. She was popular for her powerful vocals. After “American Idol,” she was launched as a solo artist. She released her first studio album Me, You & The Music in 2013 with lead single “Tonight” featuring R&B singer Ne-Yo. Her other singles included “This Love” (2014), “Stronger Together” (2016), “Millionaire” (2018), “Us” (2021), and “Baddie” (2022).
