Families of Missing Sabungeros Meet w/ DOJ Secretary Boying Remulla
DOJ – The Department of Justice claimed that 15 police officers are currently under “restricted duty” over the missing sabungeros case.
A whistleblower identified as alias “Totoy” implicated Chinese-Filipino business giant Charlie Ang or more popularly known as Atong Ang and former actress Gretchen Barretto in the case of the missing sabungeros. He came to the surface amid the continuous search for justice over the disappearance of the cockfight enthusiasts by their families.

According to alias Totoy, around 100 cockfight enthusiasts were allegerly hurt and their bodies were thrown into the waters of Taal Lake. He vowed to cooperate with the authorities in bringing justice to the death of the cockfight enthusiasts.
Amid Gretchen Barretto being encouraged to testify against Atong Ang, the Chinese-Filipino businessman denied the allegations. According to him, the whisteblower is only after money so he made the claims against him.

It is no secret to the public that Atong Ang earned millions from his e-sabong business most especially during its peak. Aside from being previously romantically linked to the Filipino-Chinese business giant, Gretchen Barretto is known as supposedly an associate in the online business of Ang.

The DOJ previously confirmed that both Ang and Barretto are considered suspects in the disappearance of the cockfight enthusiasts. The issue gained different reactions from the people.
Countless people were surprised by the claims of alias Totoy that implicated two (2) of the most popular personalities in the Philippines into a huge serious case. Despite their prominence, Malacañang clarified that Pres. Bongbong Marcos will not favor even well-known personalities over the case of the missing sabungeros.

Recently, DOJ Sec. Boying Remulla met with the families of the missing sabungeros at the justice department. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, he assured the kins of the cockfight enthusiasts who went missing that the government will not stop in the fight to achieve justice for the victims.
“Hindi namin titigilan ito, talagang kailangan ng hustisya eh, alam mo ang kaluluwa natin bilang mga Pilipino nakataya rito, dito hindi tayo pumapayag na pera-pera lang ang naging Panginoon ng Pilipino, hindi dapat ganoon,” the DOJ Secretary said.

Based on the report, Justice Sec. Boying Remulla also claimed that 15 police officers are currently under a “restricted duty” which orders them to report to offices over their alleged involvement in the case of the missing sabungeros. According to the DOJ Secretary, the 15 police officials carried out the killings of the cockfight enthusiasts.
Recently, amid the issue and her name being implicated as a suspect, Gretchen Barretto denied her alleged involvement in the case of the missing sabungeros.
