HOLDUP INCIDENT – A lady netizen goes viral and elicited various reactions online for mistaking robbery for tickling.
Recently, sweetbite09, a Reddit user, shared her hilarious yet shocking experience where she mistook a hold-up for someone just trying to tickle her. The post garnered various reactions from netizens.
According to her post on Reddit, she was waiting for a jeepney around 6 a.m. while on her way to school.
As more people gathered at the corner, a man stood beside her. She began to feel a light touch on her side and, since she’s very ticklish, she kept moving away. But every time she moved, the man followed and continued to “tickle” her.
Annoyed, she finally raised her voice and asked the man why he was tickling her. To her surprise, the man suddenly told her it was a hold-up. Still not fully realizing the danger, she responded sarcastically, not taking him seriously.
It was only when the man ran away and she noticed a knife in his hand that she realized it was a real robbery attempt.
People around her, who had witnessed the scene, were also shocked but couldn’t help reacting with amusement. One woman even pointed out that she was still focused on the tickling while a knife was already pointed at her.
Luckily, the presence of many people scared the suspect away, and nothing was taken from her. Though it happened years ago during her college days, the lady said she still laughs whenever she remembers the incident.

“6am nasa kanto na ko naghihintay ng masasakyang jeep papasok sa school. Meron akong kasabay dun na lalaki sakin pala lumalapit habang padami ng padami yung mga taong nag aabang din ng jeep which I didn’t mind. Naramdaman ko may kumakalabit sa gilid ko eh malakas nga yung kiliti ko, umusog ako. Kada uusog ako, si kuya nakasunod sakin ganun pa din nangingiliti. Sa inis ko nilakasan ko boses ko sabay sabing “ANO BA KUYA KANINA KA PA AH! BAT KA BA NANGINGILITI?” sumagot sya “GAGA HOLDAP TO!” eh di sumagot ako, “HALA AKO PA GAGA NGAYON EH IKAW TONG LAPIT NG LAPIT TAS NANGINGILITI?” kumaripas na sya ng takbo ska ko lang napansin may kutsilyo syang hawak.
Tumingin ako sa ibang nag-aabang ng jeep lahat sila nakatulala sabi nung isang ale sakin, “Yung pangingiliti pa din concern mo eh tinutukan ka na ng kutsilyo at hinoholdap ka na? buti marami ng tao kaya natakot na yung holdaper tumakbo na”
