THEFT – Two men were arrested for allegedly stealing batteries from parked jeeps in Murcia, Negros Occidental.

Theft is taking something that isn’t yours without permission, with the intention of keeping it or using it as your own. It happens when a person takes something that belongs to someone else, often for personal gain or to avoid payment.

Common examples of theft include stealing money, taking a phone or bag without the owner’s consent, or removing parts from a vehicle, such as a battery, to sell or use. Theft is illegal and is viewed as a crime in most places. People caught stealing may face serious consequences, such as paying fines, going to jail, or both, depending on the size or seriousness of the theft.

Recently, a commotion broke out in Murcia, Negros Occidental after two men were caught by residents for allegedly stealing jeep. The incident took place when locals noticed something suspicious about the pair, who were seen near a parked vehicle in the area.

The residents suspected that the men were planning to steal the jeep’s battery. Acting quickly, they checked the suspects’ tricycle and were surprised to find six vehicle batteries hidden inside. This confirmed their suspicion that the two were not just passing by.

The thieves were immediately held by the residents and later turned over to the police. According to the authorities, the suspects admitted that stealing batteries was part of their usual method to earn money.

The suspects would roam around looking for unattended vehicles and take the batteries without being noticed.
