Pregnant Woman About to Give Birth on the Roadside Helped by 4 Cops on EDSA-Balintawak
KIND POLICEMEN – Four cops along EDSA-Balintawak in Quezon City helped a pregnant woman who was about to give birth.
On early Wednesday morning (June 18, 2025), the policemen were originally responding to an incident involving a woman who had slipped. But when they arrived at the scene, they found a pregnant woman already in labor at the side of the road.
One of the officers quickly assisted her, and in just a few seconds, the baby was born. The police worked together to support the mother, call for an ambulance, and manage traffic around the area to keep everyone safe.

“Nakita ko ‘yung babae, duguan at manganganak na siya. So, ang ginawa nu’ng kasama ko, sinalo niya ‘yung bata. Halos wala pang 20 seconds, lumabas na ‘yung bata,” La Loma Police Police Master Sergeant Engelo Mariano said.
The woman was also with her other child during the incident. Despite the situation, the officers made sure both the mother and newborn were protected. They covered them with a white cloth and held an umbrella over them since it had started to rain.
The baby was healthy and even cried shortly after birth, a sign that he was doing well. A few minutes later, a barangay ambulance arrived and safely brought the mother and her baby to the hospital.
“Binalot ng white cloth at pinayungan din kasi medyo umuulan para hindi mabasa ‘yung nanay at ‘yung baby. Malusog po ‘yung bata at umiyak pa nga po ‘yung pagkalabas niya,” Mariano added.
Both mother and child were safe due to the quick and calm response of the police officers. The four officers will be given recognition at Camp Karingal on Monday for their brave and compassionate actions during the emergency.
