Pres. Bongbong Marcos Speaks on Assessing Gov’t Officials’ Performance

BONGBONG MARCOS – The Chief Executive spoke on having a “very strict” assessment of the performance of the officials of the government.

After only six (6) of the candidates of the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago senatorial slate endorsed by the administration making it to the Senate Magic 12, Pres. Marcos expressed his belief that the election results show that the Filipinos are disappointed by the service of the government. It was followed by his order among his Cabinet secretaries to tender their courtesy resignation.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos’ courtesy resignation call among his Cabinet secretaries gained immediate response from most of his Cabinet members. Several heads of the different government offices immediately tendered their courtesy resignation.

According to Malacañang, lazy and corrupt government officials have no room in the Marcos administration. Palace Press Officer Attorney Claire Castro also stressed that the courtesy resignation order is an opportunity for the Cabinet secretaries to prove their place in the admin.

Based on a report on PhilStar, in the 42-second teaser of the second podcast of Pres. Bongbong Marcos, the Chief Executive could be heard taking a vow that he will be “very, very strict” in the assessment of the performance of the officials of the government.

“That’s what we should do. We have to be very, very strict,” he expressed.

Based on the report, Pres. Bongbong Marcos noted that in the military, an official who fails to do his/her tasks is relieved from the position. The Chief Executive also explained that friendship does not mean exemption when it comes to performing tasks.

“Look, even if you are my friend, I love you and all, but if you are not doing your job, it is not about friendship or our love for each other, but the service for the people,” he said.

Previously, there were calls for Pres. Marcos to resign amid his order for a courtesy resignation among his Cabinet secretaries. The Chief Executive also had low trust ratings in the previous months.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos rejected the calls for him to resign saying it is not his nature to escape from problems. The President also previously downplayed his low trust ratings in a survey saying there are several other surveys out there.
