Leyte Vlogger Lost His Life After Eating Chicken Bones as Part of His Follower’s Challenge
A vlogger from Leyte tragically lost his life after eating chicken bones as part of a challenge to receive P20,000 from one of his followers.
Eating chicken bones can be very dangerous and should be avoided. When cooked, chicken bones become brittle and can easily break into sharp pieces. These sharp bits can cause serious problems if swallowed.
They might get stuck in the throat and cause choking, which is very risky and could even be life-threatening. Even if they make it past the throat, they can still hurt the inside of the body.

The sharp edges can scratch or tear the throat, stomach, or intestines, leading to bleeding or infection. Our stomachs aren’t made to digest hard bones, so they can also block the digestive tract and cause a lot of pain.
Rogelio, a simple man from Leyte, started a mukbang vlog in 2022. His content focused on eating local food from the province, hoping that one day, it would help support his family.
His videos slowly gained attention, and by March 2025, he finally earned his first income from his vlogs worth P24,000.
The vlogger worked even harder to create more content after receiving his first salary. Then, a follower challenged him to eat chicken bones on camera, and in return, he would receive P20,000. Believing the money could help his family, Rogelio accepted the challenge.
On May 19, 2025, he recorded the video. He ate lechon manok, including the bones. Just two days later, he started experiencing severe stomach pain. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors found problems in his intestines and recommended surgery.
Unfortunately, despite efforts to treat him, Rogelio passed away a few days later. The follower who challenged him never sent the promised money. In fact, it turned out to be a cruel joke. The person has not been heard from since.
