Here’s what Robin Padilla said, affirming his loyalty to the former president.
In an interview, Senator Robin Padilla speaks about and admits his loyalty to former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
In a previous article, Senator Robin Padilla confirmed on Monday that he is drafting a separate resolution seeking the dismissal of the impeachment case against Vice President Sara Duterte.
As much as we all know, the six major allegations in the impeachment trial of VP Sara are:
- Conspiracy to Assassinate President Marcos, First Lady, and Speaker Romualdez
- Malversation of P612.5 Million in Confidential Funds
- Bribery and Corruption in DepEd
- Unexplained Wealth and Failure to Disclose Assets
- Involvement in Extrajudicial Killings (Davao Death Squad)
- Destabilization, Insurrection, and Public Disorder
In the resolution he is drafting, he is, so far, the only author, and is hoping to get the support of his colleagues, especially from the so-called Duterte bloc. He is still uncertain if this would be included in the draft resolution of Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa. The latter is also a known supporter of the former president.
As he confirmed this, he, as well, affirmed his loyalty to Duterte. He expressed that it is already known that he is a supporter of Duterte and added that even if someone were to burn him right now, he would still reek of Duterte.
He said about his loyalty while the Senate faces increasing pressure to act on the impeachment case, “Kami Duterte kami, malinaw naman siguro yan, kahit sinugin mo ako, mangangamoy Rodrigo Roa Duterte ako.”
In a previous article, Senate President Chiz Escudero maintained his stand about the impeachment trial, saying they are only following a due process. He is not delaying anything and would not listen to those who rush them to fulfill their constitutional duty.
