PAGASA Says Southwesterly Windflow and Frontal System to Affect PH Weather

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that two weather systems will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Friday (May 30, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The southwesterly windflow and frontal system will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio reported that Southwesterly Windflow is affecting the western section of Luzon, while the Frontal System will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over the eastern section of Northern Luzon.

The Southwesterly Windflow will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Central Luzon.

The frontal system will bring similar weather conditions over Cagayan Valley. Flash floods or landslides are possible in these areas due to moderate to heavy with at times intense rains.

Therefore, we would like to remind our countrymen in the aforementioned areas to take precautions and be alert for possible flooding or landslides brought about by rain showers,” Aurelio said.

The southwesterly windflow will bring cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila, CALABARZON, and MIMAROPA.

The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over the remaining parts of the country. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected during severe thunderstorms.

Aurelio said that no typhoons or low-pressure areas are being monitored within or outside the Philippine area of responsibility. No tropical cyclones are expected to develop or enter PAR for this month.

Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over the northern and eastern sections of Northern Luzon will be moderate coastal waters. The rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.

No gale warning was raised over any parts of the country, according to PAGASA
