Authorities Arrest Man Caught w/ Over P2 Million Worth of Illegal Drugs in Antipolo

A man was caught with over P2 million worth of illegal drugs during a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Roque, Antipolo City.

On early Wednesday morning, May 28, 2025, a 43-year-old man was arrested during a buy-bust operation carried out by the Philippine National Police (PNP) along with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

The suspect, identified as a high-value target, was caught after selling a sachet of suspected drugs to an undercover agent posing as a buyer. The transaction was worth P3,000. Following the arrest, authorities seized five more packs of suspected illegal drugs, weighing over 300 grams and estimated to be worth more than P2 million.

Illegal Drugs

According to the police, the illegal drugs came from Metro Manila and were being sold in Antipolo and nearby areas. Investigators revealed that the suspect had already been arrested twice before, in 2019 and 2022, but was released under probation.

‘Yung kanyang amo ay arrested and from there nagkaroon ng follow-up operation. Umabot po ng more or less two weeks since the arrest of his immediate handler bago natin natunton itong isa pang high value individual,” Rizal Police Provincial Office Provincial Director Police Colonel Felipe Maraggun said.

The arrest followed a previous operation that led to the capture of the suspect’s handler. It took around two weeks of follow-up surveillance before this high-value target was tracked down.

The recovered drugs will be sent to the Rizal Provincial Crime Laboratory Office for further examination. The suspect claimed he was simply eating in the area when he was arrested but said he would explain everything in court.

He is now under the custody of Antipolo Police and will face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Authorities continue their investigation to determine the full extent of the suspect’s involvement in the illegal drug trade
