Sparkle GMA Artist Center talent Ashley Ortega has this reaction to people who are calling her a “starlet”.
Ashley started her career in the entertainment industry at a young age. She was just 12 years old when she started doing commercials for GMA Network. Eventually, she became an actress.
Aside from her acting stints, Ashley also competed as a professional figure skater. She already competed in other countries like Malaysia and Thailand.
In recent years, she has done various acting projects as a Kapuso actress. With her 14 years in the entertainment industry, Ashley already has her fair share of bashing.
In a recent interview, based on the article in PEP, Ashley Ortega shared that even back when she was just five years in showbiz, she already had bashers. However, the actress has learned to ignore the negative reactions to her.
She said that she is more focused on the blessings in her life, all the positive things happening to her, and the people who love her. “So, parang natatabunan na yung mga bashers. So, parang, ‘Bahala na kayo diyan, ako, grateful sa life.’ So, deadma lang po talaga,” the Kapuso star said.
Ashley also said that she never answered her bashers. However, she admitted that there were negative reactions that affected her in the past.
When asked about the most hurtful bashing that she received. Ashley said that it was when she was called a “starlet.” “Yung, parang, ang tagal sa industriya tapos wala pa masyadong napapatunayan. O sabihin ko na po, ‘starlet,’ ayan. Ayun, yung masabihan nang ganun before,” she shared.
The actress added that she would always prove herself that she was more than that. Aside from this, there was nothing more because she was getting love and support from others.
Ashley Ortega said that the negative criticism does not affect her that much since she is using this as a motivation to improve herself and what she is doing. So, for her, this is an advantage as she is inspired to be better. Despite the negative reactions, the actress said that she does not hold grudges against other people.
