Sen. Bato dela Rosa, a known Duterte ally, was reelected in the 2025 Senatorial Election. He is expected to be part of the “Duterte bloc”. Speaking to Bilyonaryo News Channel, the former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief turned Senator claimed that more than nine (9) senators already are on their side.

Based on a report on PhilStar, Dela Rosa further claimed that there are senators who are not their allies but changed their stand and support them over the issue. He is confident that Duterte’s case will get to acquittal.

“I am confident of an acquittal because we are seeing our non-allies changing their stand. The numbers are growing as far as our side is concerned,” the reelected Senator said during the “On Point” program.

Based on the report, the impeachment trial of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is expected to start in July. Sen. Bato dela Rosa refused to name the senators who are allegedly on their side over the matter involving the Vice President.

“I don’t want to name them and then make them change their stance depending on the course of the impeachment trial. But as of now, I am confident we have more than nine votes,” he expressed.

Recently, presidential sister and reelected Sen. Imee Marcos claimed that she will join the “Duterte bloc” in the Senate when the 20th Congress opens in July.
