Man Found Dead in Suspected Hit-and-Run Along Ortigas Avenue Extension
A man was found lifeless on the road along Ortigas Avenue Extension in Antipolo City, after being involved in a hit-and-run incident.
On the evening of Wednesday (May 21, 2025), A man was found lifeless on the road along Ortigas Avenue Extension in Barangay Dela Paz, Antipolo City.
According to an employee working in a nearby building, he saw the man lying motionless on the ground with blood coming from his head. A motorcycle had been placed to block vehicles from passing through the scene, likely to avoid further accidents.
“Paglabas ko diyan sa ano, may nakahandusay na eh, tapos duguan na, tapos may motor hinarangan niya para hindi madaanan. Mabilis magpatakbo ‘yung mga sasakyan dito, kahit mga truck, kaya maraming naaaksidente. Medyo madilim dito eh,” Leonan Liñan, an employee from a nearby building said.
The witness noted that vehicles, including large trucks, often speed along that stretch of road, which is poorly lit and known for being dangerous.
Just a few minutes after the discovery, rescue teams from Antipolo and officers from the Philippine National Police (PNP) arrived at the scene. The initial assessment from the authorities suggested the man may have been a victim of a hit-and-run.
Police said that no identification was found on the man, making it difficult to determine his identity. He had no ID or any documents on him at the time he was found.
Investigators are now reviewing CCTV footage from nearby establishments to find out what exactly happened and to help track down the vehicle involved. Authorities are hoping that the footage will lead them to the person responsible for the incident.
The police are continuing their investigation to piece together the events leading up to the man’s death. They are also urging anyone with information to come forward to help identify the victim and provide any leads that could help in solving the case.
