Despite many celebrities had their election loss, Alfred Vargas had his triumph
Actor-politician Alfred Vargas shared his secrets about his election win after he was elected again as Quezon City councilor.
Alfred has been in the public service for many years already. He was one of the celebrities who won but there were also a bunch of celebrities who did not succeed.
In a recent interview with The Philippine Star, Alfred was asked what his advantage was over other celebrities who ran but lost in the 2025 elections.

The actor-politician said that nothing is really sure and fixed in politics, and that there would always be surprises and unexpected happenings.
Talking about his advantage, Alfred Vargas said that he had good personal relationships with most of his constituents. He also said people started entrusting him to serve in 2010 and he gave everything up, including his successful acting career.
“So I never took public service for granted. It has been my top priority until this day,” Alfred said. He has been in the public service for 15 years now and he was able to develop a personal relationship with different sectors and stockholders in their district.
Alfred admitted that they encountered some challenges along the way but they were able to implement sustainable programs successfully, most of the time. “The best campaign still remains to be your performance and track record, combined with your ‘personal touch’ kind of leadership,” the actor-politician stressed.

Another point that he highlighted is that he listens to the people before making a decision or taking an action. In every term, he would go around the district for months and listen to the people through “people-participation mechanisms like ACTIVE VOICES, PANAYAM SA MAMAYAN programs and our LUKAS: Lehislatibong Ugnayan ng Kongresman/Konsehal At mga Simbahan program.”
Alfred Vargas also said that she never stopped learning whatever the source or material he would have in order to learn something new.
He also said that he finished his master’s degree in Public Administration at UP Diliman when he was serving as a congressman. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD in Urban Planning at the same university.
“I know that I do not know everything to be able to lead properly that’s why I study and ask help from experts and my own constituents on a regular basis,” he explained.
