Chito Miranda ’s Two-Week Vigil at Police Station During Neri Naig’s Detention

CHITO MIRANDA – Singer-songwriter Chito Miranda revealed that he lived in a police station for two weeks while his wife, Neri Naig, was in custody.

Chito Miranda has once again proven the depth of his love and loyalty to his wife, Neri Naig-Miranda, after opening up about the sacrifices he made during one of the most challenging chapters in their lives.

In a heartfelt interview with journalist Bernadette Sembrano, the Parokya ni Edgar frontman revealed that he stayed at a police station for two weeks while Neri was detained following her controversial arrest in November 2024. Neri faced complaints that included violations of the Securities Regulation Code (RA 8799) and syndicated estafa. The charges, however, were eventually dismissed by Pasay City courts in March 2025.

“I never left her side,” Chito said. “There were parts that I wasn’t allowed to be there with her. I’ll be outside lang.” “So basically I left (home) na tumira ako sa police station for the whole duration. That was around two weeks. I never went home. Hindi ako umuwi hanggang hindi kami sabay umuwi.”

Chito’s unwavering presence during that difficult time touched many, showing a level of support that is both rare and admirable. He also shared that Neri is still in the process of healing but is slowly recovering from the emotional toll brought on by the legal battle.

When asked about what values he hopes to instill in his children, Chito emphasized the importance of kindness and faith. “First maging kind. Maging mabait lang even when the world is not kind. Kasi kahit we’re so exposed sa social media, akala masama mga tao. When you go sa real world, the world is still beautiful.”

He added, “Just to have faith na kung anuman mangyari, kung ano ang pinagdadaanan mo, everything happens for a reason.”

Chito’s words and actions reflect a strong foundation of love, resilience, and hope—principles that have helped him and his family weather storms together.
